This position will be a key part of an experienced team focused on the delivery of steam and gas turbine aftermarket services and products. As an important part of the TurboCare team, the position of Staff Engineer provides an excellent opportunity for continued individual skills development and professional growth.

JOB OVERVIEW:
  • The Staff Engineer is responsible for creating and issuing written instructions, drawings and procedures to support the repair of steam and gas turbine, pump, and compressor components.
  • Primary responsibility is technical direction to the shop supervisor and craft labor with regards to inspection, repair, engineered modifications, machining, blade installation, and welding. As the leading technical authority at the Jacksonville facility, the Staff Engineer provides technical supervision for both shop and customer site work.
  • Responsible for supporting sales in reviewing service proposals and sales orders to insure they include proper technical and work scope definition. These activities will require interaction with TurboCare, external customer, and vendor personnel.
  • Many repair services require specialized tooling, and procedures. The Staff Engineer will be extensively involved in developing and improving new and innovative solutions.
  • Work with the local Management Team and the TurboCare Engineering Organization to develop new business initiatives, and to support the business plan.
  • Support Sales and Marketing to promote business growth opportunities and to develop new markets.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in turbine design, manufacturing or maintenance.
  • Experience with the repair of steam turbine rotors, blades and diaphragms.
  • Knowledge of various steam turbine components including understanding of function, interfaces, and design aspects.
  • Proven problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills including use of AutoCAD and Microsoft software (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project and MS Outlook)
  • Ability to perform well in a fast paced and demanding service oriented environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • 15% Travel in support of on-going projects
