Reports to the Engineering Manager and provides in-depth technical support for the Houston Repair Operations. Creates engineering department procedures as well as product-specific technical repair methods. Performs necessary engineering calculations and studies to confirm soundness of recommended repairs to steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors and pumps.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for engineering oversight to guide the repair of turbomachinery.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interact in a productive team-minded approach with other engineers, repair specialists and shop personnel to ensure high quality repairs and satisfied customers.
- Meet with customers as required to support complex repair methodology decisions.
- Create new and innovative turbomachinery repair techniques for use in shop-based or field-based repairs.
- Supports Sales and Marketing in the technical preparation of Requests For Quotation (RFQ's). This may require visits to customer's sites to review equipment and participate in technical discussions.
- Work closely with engineering departments in other TurboCare facilities on major projects or as needed on specific jobs.
BS in Engineering with10 or more years of appropriate experience in the development and implementation of engineered repair solutions on a variety of turbomachinery. Must have demonstrated problem solving ability. Requires knowledge of complete systems, not just item being repaired. Must be familiar with terminology and design aspects of multiple OEM products.
