Although all new turbines are supplied with advanced digital plc control systems,
this was not always the case. The previous generation of turbines were fitted
with less technologically advanced control management systems which operated from
logic stored in electronic process cards. Although numerous turbine owners have
opted to upgrade to a modern distributed process system (see our sentinel product),
there are still many older and mature turbines operating on the older system.
However, it is proving very difficult and expensive to source replacement parts
and process cards for these control systems as many have had their manufacture
discontinued. In the absence of an upgrade strategy, TurboCare is able to offer
a card repair service which ensures turbine owners can still operate their equipment.
Customers can send us their cards for repair and return, or depending upon the
time constraints, it may be beneficial to take advantage of our Speedtronic card
exchange service. We carry inventory of a range of cards and one such card would
be sent to a customer in exchange for his non-functioning card. This solution
is often the most responsive and economic in the market to return your power generation
equipment to operation.
