Preventing Internal Leakage
Replacing snout rings at every overhaul is critical for efficient turbine operation.
Damaged or worn rings can cause a substantial loss of efficiency. Simply disassembling
snout assemblies without unstacking the rings leaves the condition of the outer
rings unknown--and potential leakage unrepaired.
TurboCare manufactures conventional chromoly snout rings to match the thermal
expansion of the unit. To speed and simplify installation, we custom-size rings
before shipment so that final machining at assembly is not necessary. Conventional
snout rings made to order during the outage means no more obsolete inventory,
no "last-ditch" parts orders. Custom manufacturing during the overhaul eliminates
inventory carrying costs.
Most customers consider TurboCare's Articulated Snout Rings to be a superior
option as compared to conventional replacement to improve turbine efficiency as
well as simplyfy future maintenance requirements.
