Reports to Repair Supervisor, defining repair workscope, initiating and generating estimating cost workbooks and developing routers for all Repair Services jobs.
JOB SCOPE/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop all aspects of the plans for Turbomachinery service repairs
- Coordinate plans with manufacturing and Project Manager as appropriate
- Open a workbook for all jobs assigned. Initiate all jobs in Product Center Configurator where product models exist
- Review any previous job history and prepare and issue incoming equipment inspection packages
- Design and implement new inspection forms as required
- Review inspection results and confirm conformance to OEM specification/drawings when applicable
- Review any previous job history
- Generate workscope, a workbook outlining the man-hours, materials, and outside services required for the project workscope. Review with Repair Engineer to obtain technical concurrence. Review estimated hours and costs workbook estimates with management, manufacturing, and Project Manager as appropriate
- Conduct a sales committee meeting to outline and review the project workscope with all departmental representatives, note changes and agreed recommendations, and make these changes to the workbook or in Product Configurator where applicable
- Upon release of the job, review drawings and specifications and release detailed routers to Manufacturing
- Initiate the purchasing of required parts, material and vendor services required to support the job
- Consult with Manufacturing on make-or-buy decisions
- Coordinate efforts with the Project/Commercial Manager and Repair Engineer on all applicable jobs
- Resolve shop problems on all jobs that are not assigned a Project Manager
- Prepare estimates for RFQ's in support of Sales. Review the workscope and book estimates with Management Engineering and Manufacturing as appropriate
- Prepare costs for change authorizations. These changes will be recorded in the workbook by the Repair Specialist and in Vantage by Sales
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or business related field from an accredited college or university or its recognized equivalent in relevant work experience.
