Reports to the Operations  Manager and provides operational support for the Jacksonville Repair Operations. Performs necessary Purchasing, Safety, Shipping, and QA.

JOB OVERVIEW:

  • Perform all functions related to purchasing and subcontracting
  • Responsible for maintaining database of approved suppliers.
  • Provide assistance with outside process scheduling and coordination.
  • Ensure that all relevant QA procedures with respect to duties assigned are followed.
  • Ensure that all QA related requirements are included in purchase orders when applicable.
  • Work with the suppliers in case of corrective actions. Initiate and carry out corrective action within the purchasing function if required.
  • Maintain approved shipper & vendor lists. Audit suppliers and subcontractors
  • Monitor and update production due date in computer control system.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the adequacy of existing QA procedures.
  • Exercise document control over the quality system documentation including quality records.
  • Ensure proper collection of quality records and their filing and distribution thereafter.
  • Identify product quality problems, facilitate the investigation of nonconformances and the initiation of corrective action.
  • Supervise training of company personnel in QA related activities.
  • Manage the internal audit process.
  • Prepare and facilitate semi-annual management reviews of the quality system.
  • Participate in Contract Review meetings and prepare / implement quality plans.
  • Manage and participate in the inspection process.
  • Safety
  • Assist in all other duties as needed or as directed by management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associates Degree in Material Handling & Inventory Control or Equivalent Experience.
  • At least 1 year's experience, preferably in the metals industry.
  • General knowledge of shop activities.
  • Managerial expertise and the ability to delegate. 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate.

  • Ability to work well and excel with others in a variety of situations, whether on the phone, in an office or in the shop with customers and/or coworkers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast paced and demanding service oriented environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Limited travel in support of on-going projects when needed.
