JOB OVERVIEW:
- Select all types of cutting tools suitable for working on all kinds of material and on all types of cuts; properly grind cutting tools
- Set part to be machined in proper position using suitable lifting equipment; select and use suitable holding devices or method
- Rough and finish machine a wide variety of complicated work
- Use precision measuring instruments such as verniers, micrometers, precision gage blocks, dial indicators, calipers, and many other instruments required to maintain dimensions and close tolerances
- Perform duties without assistance except on unusual or difficult jobs only. Consistently produce work of proper quality and of properly required quantity
- High School or Equivalent
- Three to five years experience
- Use of a variety of precision measuring instruments
