Custom Fit for Better Performance
Why spend money for a turbine overhaul and then fail to gain the expected performance
improvement due to poorly fitting labyrinth shaft seals? As steam turbines age
through multiple outage cycles, components typically distort and deviate from
original design specifications--and overhauls using standard packing made to the
original design drawings can cause rubs, leaks and subsequent loss of efficiency.
TurboCare solves the problem by custom fitting our conventional seals to ensure
a round bore and tight clearance regardless of out-of-round conditions in the
case. The optimum replacement for older labyrinth packing is TurboCare custom-fit
seals. We take detailed measurements when we open the machine, manufacture the
seals to order and carry out final CNC machining on-site during installation to
ensure the desired tight clearance. Result: the performance recovery you expect
from an overhaul.
