The successful candidate will be responsible for calibrating and certifying production and inspection measuring equipment, as well as investigating and reporting findings of deviations or compliance for disposition.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and interpret specifications and instructions in preparation for calibration and / or inspection.
- Set up and inspect, tools, instruments, and measuring equipment including those returned for repair to determine conformance with procedures and specifications. This may include dimensions, concentricity, roundness, taper, surface finish, relationship to datums, or reference points, parallelism, flatness, shape, angularity, straightness, fits, completeness, alignment, trueness contact, cleanliness.
- Knowledge of proper use and function of dimensional measuring equipment such as : Dial indicators, Dial calipers, Vernier calipers, OD micrometers, ID micrometers, Standards
- Calibrate mechanical instruments such as dial indicators, vernier calipers, micrometers, electrical run our instruments, and electrical TIR instruments.
- The technician shall have the knowledge and capability to perform minor repair on dial indicators, vernier calipers, and micrometers.
- Monitor and control the calibration program for all mechanical and electrical gages.
- Perform duties with assistance and direction of certified inspector/group leader, except during technical assistance.
- Advise operators and report findings in matters relating to conformance of quality standards to shop foremen and/or quality control supervision.
- Attend instructional meetings as required.
- Perform inspection duties in compliance with the Quality System and ISO 9001.
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel along with the calibration monitoring software such as Engage.
- High School graduate or equivalent adept in mathematics and the ability to use an interpret blueprints.
- Must pass qualifying tests.
