This position is responsible for planning, layout, set up, coordinating and performing all aspects of repair work on all types of gas turbine rotating equipment. This includes inspection, dismantling, machining, assembly, blading, and balancing, where fits and tolerances are exacting.
JOB OVERVIEW:
- Receives work assignments from supervision or designate. Work from written and/or verbal instructions, sketches, samples, data sheets, or blue prints. Requires interpretation of complex data, drawings and other information.
- Develop information, tools, equipment, parts and procedures, with or without information, as required.
- Perform all operations with or without detail data to meet customer and engineering requirements. Record all pertinent data.
- Dismantle gas turbine apparatus, diagnose malfunctions, determine and complete repairs, which includes assembly, machining, blading, balance and final inspection.
- Set-ups on gas turbines and gas turbine components may require considerable ingenuity and the need to improvise to overcome abnormally difficult machining operations, fits, tolerances, and exacting finish requirements.
- Prepare reports to customers and/or engineering to describe gas turbine repair procedures and final inspection results, as required.
- High School diploma or recognized equivalent plus two (2) years of trade and/or technical school or equivalent related work experience. Minimum five (5) years experience performing repairs on industrial gas turbine rotors.
