Welcome to the TurboCare Engineering design office, located in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
The facility is the TurboCare corporate "Center of Excellence" for engineering
design, including mechanical analysis, thermodynamic / aerodynamic design, steam
path upgrades, blade failure analysis and the application of a full range of customized
aftermarket products and services focused on increasing turbine reliability and
performance. The office is staffed with a team of experienced design engineers
and drafters representing over 300 years of collective turbine design experience
and are proud of its reputation for having more engineers dedicated to turbine
aftermarket design than many original equipment manufacturers. The Fitchburg
office with its associated engineering capabilities is a key component of TurboCare's
technology focused business strategy and represents our continuing commitment
to being the global leader in providing engineered solutions for the turbine aftermarket.
The office takes advantage of extensive computer links to other TurboCare production
and service centers which allows engineering to collaborate in real time during
the design and manufacturing phases of a project to create custom designed critical
short cycle components. While the design phase for many of these components used
to take months, many can now be designed on line by the Fitchburg office and electronically
transmitted for manufacture by one of the TurboCare manufacturing operations days
later. This capability allows us to provide customized, engineered solutions
in less time than many competitors can supply unimproved, direct replacement parts.
TurboCare steam path upgrades are also well known within the industry where they
have been successfully applied on installed turbines made by most major original
equipment manufacturers. These major steam path modification packages are custom
designed to meet customer objectives and have an impressive track record of combining
the benefits of advanced technology features yielding new unit performance with
the benefits of a cost effective retrofit package suitable for short cycle installation
during a typical maintenance outage. TurboCare uprate packages have been successfully
installed on units ranging in size from 5000 horsepower variable speed compressor
drives to 1300 MW power generation units.
The Fitchburg engineering office recently celebrated its 5th anniversary and
we look forward to the opportunity of working with you to investigate the potential
benefits that can be realized by applying TurboCare custom engineered products
on virtually any OEM's equipment, worldwide.
