Brush Tip Seals are an upgrade to spill strips, j-strips, and stip seals, which integrate a flexible metallic brush at the blade tip. The brush is flexible to compensate for rotor excursions during start-up, while maintaining a tight clearnace during operation. This results in superior performance for steam turbines.
